About Diversity Initiatives For Develpment Tanzania

Diversity Initiative for Development Tanzania (D.I.D) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2016 by a group of passionate Tanzanians from diverse professional backgrounds, united by a shared vision to empower women and youth. What began as a university-based movement advocating for young women’s rights has grown into a national organization promoting equality, inclusion, and sustainable development.

Officially registered in 2020 under the NGO Act of 2002, D.I.D uses a diversity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability approach to advance social justice and equal opportunities for all. Our work focuses on promoting gender equality, protecting human rights, improving access to education, and supporting legal and policy reforms that benefit women and youth.

We also recognize the vital connection between social justice and environmental well-being. D.I.D integrates environmental protection, climate resilience, and green livelihood initiatives into its programs—empowering communities, especially women and youth, to take part in building a sustainable and inclusive future.

At D.I.D, we believe that when every voice is heard and every person has equal access to opportunities, communities can thrive—socially, economically, and environmentally.
